چکیده
Background: Chronic posttraumatic brain injury (TBI) pituitary dysfunction is not a novel concept; nonetheless, it has become increasingly common as result of increased exposure to its causes, namely traffic accidents, sports-related injuries, falls, and injuries sustained during conflicts. The goal this study was identify patterns following severe traumatic injury. Methodology: A cross‑sectional conducted by enrolling 200 patients with TBI. Participants were having history moderate‑to‑severe TBI at least 3 months before enrolment. Pituitary function test done for all determine the frequency dysfunction, number axes deficiencies, which hormone mostly affected. Results: 122 had developed after head trauma, while 78 not. most affected trauma GH in 100 (50%), followed gonadal axis, TSH, finally ACTH, 40 (20%), 21(10.5%), 10 (5%), respectively. We can see that single hormonal defect prevalent abnormality 87 (43.5%), two‑axis 9 (4.5%) only (1.5%) suffered from four deficiencies. Conclusion: more than expected cohort investigated, deficiency being aberration, axis impacted.

Posterior pituitary dysfunction after traumatic brain injury.
Disorders of water balance are well recognized after traumatic brain injury (TBI), but there are no reliable data on their true prevalence in post-TBI patients. We aimed to evaluate the prevalence of posterior pituitary dysfunction in a large cohort of survivors of TBI. One hundred two consecutive patients (85 males) who suffered severe or moderate TBI were evaluated for diabetes insipidus (DI)...

A mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is a complex pathophysiologic process that has a systemic effect on the body aside from solely an impairment in cognitive function.
